Mercedes suffers 11,8% Sales Drop in August 2008!
The United States division of the German company is reporting significant number of sales drop during the hottest summer month. There is a decreasing with 11.8 percent. Nevertheless the sales are still increasing with half of a percent on a yearly basis compared with previous one.
The leader in sales for the company is the C-Class which is being sold as a “hot story newspaper”, achieving increase with 53,1 percent, almost reaching the number of 7,000 sold units. In comparison to the same month in 2007 they were slightly more than 4,500. The total number of sold C-Class vehicles for the whole year is more than 50,000 which is increasing with almost 40% compared to the 2007.
M-Class model also brings a good news for the company gaining 7.2 percent increase with 21,000 sold vehicles.
Among the German brands only Volkswagen registered positive sales numbers. Even that Volkswagen declared 0% APR for financing for certain period. Adding that a month ago BMW lower their APR for financing to 0.9% it seems that no one wants to take care of leased vehicles after 3 years. The question is "Why?" - after 3 years regular car is hybrid, electric or hydrogen and no one is using gasoline engines?
