The R8 is already established itself as a true exotic and to be able to say “I own an R8” means that you are among a few chosen individuals. The demand for this car is astonishing and there is an 18+ month waiting list for it. You can read more about that here.
 

To say that the R8 needs any improvements in term of both design and performance would be a hard point to argue. This car is not claiming to be the fastest but is definitely in supercar territory and that is probably why, some tuners, such as WaM, just slightly touched it when they presented their own version of it. There are also rumours that an R8 V10 version is in the works, that will try and beat the Nissan GTR's record lap on the Nurburgring.
 

Meanwhile, Audi Sport, the motorsport division of Audi, decided that it’s about time they strip out some of the luxury options of the R8 and create a true race version of the car that will race in the GT3 championship. The end result looks more than impressive. Power has been increased to 500 hp, the Quattro system has been replaced with a more purist GT rear-wheel drive and a new six-speed sequential gearbox has been put in place. Aerodynamics is optimized and extra down force is added by the huge rear wing and modified front spoiler.
